HICHAM BENAHOUND
The Instinctive portraits project was inspired by Hicham Benahoud's work called: 'The Classroom'. Hicham Benahoud is a visual artist and teacher in Marrakesh.
I can see a boy in the centre holding long cardboards around his limb in an odd formation. The genre of this picture could be a documentation of the moment and a portraiture. I think that the composition of the cardboard on his limbs appear quite unusual. It doesn't appear like the audience in the background seem bothered or intrigued with the subject in the centre which is the boy. The photograph makes me feel intrigued when I first glance at it because of the odd position of the cardboard which runs across the image. The photo is in black and white which makes me observe more intensely to identify what is within the image; in a way it does appear very weird and comedic. The ideas I think that were explored in the photograph was most likely the students creative mind as he is placed in a strict, restricted space. The relationship between the foreground and background appear disconnected because there is no involvement from the background based on their body language, this could imply they do not have a close relationship.

FINAL OUTCOME:
Although I used more that two props I feel my work is very imaginative and surreal, whilst unusual at the same time and inhabits the idea that it makes everyone feel something different or think about it differently. They are capable of holding more than one perspective.
